About Maya

Maya Cederlund is a fourth-year journalism student at American University in Washington, D.C. Cederlund is a  a Reporting Fellow at the Investigative Reporting Workshop and The Eagle's DEI and Community Engagement Editor. She's also co-president of AU's inaugural Asian American Journalists Association chapter.

She is a 2025 White House Correspondents’ Association scholar and is an incoming News Intern for NPR-affiliate KCUR 89.3.

Cederlund is interested in investigative journalism, amplifying marginalized voices and reporting on race and ethnicity. Her freelance article about adoptees is listed under NBC Asian America’s Editor’s Picks section, a “selection of the best reporting and most interesting stories from NBC News.”

Outside of journalism, Cederlund enjoys to bouldering, baking, hiking, skiing and spend time with her family dog.
